Jakarta, Indonesia 2-3 April 2015. Tractus Indonesia Country Representative, Daniel Bellefleur, chaired and presented at the Southeast Asia Automotive Summit at the Raffles Hotel Jakarta. Mr. Bellefleur compared and contrasted the Indonesia, Thai, and Vietnamese automotive markets to over 80 executives conveying respective nations’ overall competitiveness while highlighting FDI investment opportunities. With Indonesia emerging as an automotive hub in Southeast Asia and one of the fastest growing automotive markets globally, summit attendees came together to explore opportunities in the dynamic market. Due to a number of economic challenges facing the Indonesian economy, 2015 vehicle sales are not expected to be as strong as 2013 and 2014 where unit sales surpassed 1.2 million. Medium to long term forecasts bode well for the archipelago economy as a comparatively low percentage of the population currently own cars while the government is planning to improve transportation infrastructure.
